The U.S. Embassy, Accra Ghana has announced the temporary closure of its Consular Section from July 20 to July 31, 2026, as it undertakes scheduled maintenance.
In a public notice, the embassy said it will be unable to process visa applications and other consular services during the period, except in life-or-death emergencies.
The embassy also indicated that all visa appointments scheduled within the closure period have been rescheduled, urging affected applicants to check their email for updated appointment details.
However, individuals who have already received email notifications confirming that their passport or Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) is ready for collection can still visit the embassy on July 23 or July 30, between 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., to pick up their documents.
The Embassy advise the public to plan accordingly. The Consular Section is expected to resume normal operations after the maintenance exercise concludes on July 31, 2026.
