Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called on members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to strengthen unity and intensify grassroots mobilisation as the party prepares for the 2028 general elections.
He made the call when the National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) paid a courtesy visit to his office to formally invite him to the NPP’s 2026 National Delegates Conference.
According to Nana Akufo-Addo, the party’s efforts to rebuild and renew itself must focus on improving internal cohesion and reconnecting with supporters at the grassroots.
He expressed confidence in the NPP’s chances in the 2028 elections but stressed the need to establish a strong organisational structure ahead of the polls.
The former President also commended the NOEC for its work in organising the delegates conference and the election of new national officers.
He pledged his support for the committee and confirmed that he would attend the conference.
NOEC Chairman Frederick Opare-Ansah disclosed the engagement in a Facebook post, expressing gratitude to the former President for receiving the delegation and sharing his advice and support.
The committee said the meeting was part of its broader engagement with key party figures ahead of the 2026 conference and the election of new national officers.
