The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has summoned Parliament to sit on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 12 noon at Parliament House in Accra.
The summons was contained in a notice issued from the Office of the Speaker and dated September 24, 2026. The notice cites Article 112(3) of the 1992 Constitution and Order 53 of the Standing Orders of Parliament as the basis for the recall.
Article 112(3) of the Constitution provides that 15 percent of Members of Parliament may request a meeting of Parliament, following which the Speaker is required to summon the House within seven days of receiving the request.
The notice, signed by Speaker Bagbin, formally directs Parliament to reconvene on September 29 for the scheduled sitting.
